Dallas Cowboys Mid Season Review November 1, 2008

Just couple months ago the Dallas Cowboys started off as one of the favourites to win it all. As we have seen something has clearly gone wrong along the way. Here’s my 2 cents on why they have gotten to this point.
- Tony Romo is a loose cannon who cannot be counted on to win a game. Sure he has one of the highest passer rates in the league but every time the game is on the line I get this feeling in my gut that the team is just not going to make it. Sure Philadelphia was one such game that the Cowboys rallied in but had it not been for the fumble, the Cowboys would be 4-4.
- The is no D in big D. It seems to me that the Cowboy’s defense has been and is unable to stop anyone except for a good game last Sunday. They will head into this week’s game with the number 10th ranked defense in the league, giving up 300 total yards per game with over 90 yards rushing. This is a defense that should be more effective, lets just hope that with the change in the play calling and all that we will see the talent being put to use.
- Pacman Jones wasn’t worth the off season attention. Sure he was a good talent when he played for the Titans but all we’ve seen this season is him being burned on coverage and almost uninspiring punt return attempts. Jerry Jones made a bad call deciding to make the team Pacman’s rehabilitation center.
- The offensive line seems incapable of protecting whichever quarterback is back there.
That’s my 2 cents, not much but I believe there is no complicated science to what has happened to Dallas. Each man just needs to step up and play his game.
