Henderson all grown up

So the big day has come and gone and I can look back and say it was a rough but we pulled it together in the end. Some things went wrong but even more went right and thus the day was indeed successful.

Firstly the bride got sick. Not the best of days to get sick, but she still showed and she was stunning.

The cake man brought the cake late. The music never reached ontime.

With these things happening one would think it was a disaster, but I see it this way. The cake did come and it tasted superb and people still enjoying it, the music came just in time when the bride was about to make her grand entrance and in the end the minister even gave me back a portion of the late fine that i had to pay.

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time..

So here’s the thing. I needed to setup a backup system whereby the user’s documents will be backed up to a location on the server automatically. There is a problem with the offline file setup that I don’t want to touch cause not even Microsoft can give a proper solution to that problem.

I tried finding programs that can do it and as with most products they came with a cost. One that I can not afford right now even though the solution is not for myself but the organization.

Here’s the solution i came up with:

1.  Created a batch file that will copy the contents of the folder that has the files to the backup directory
2. Next to set it up to run automatically, i will setup a job in scheduled tasks that will run for every hour or so.

Hopefully that will work and with the new found knowledge some client will need something like that.
